Greg J. Geryak
Greg Geryak originally a New Jersey native moved with his wife Lina to Phoenix (Ahwatukee) AZ, in 1993. After fifteen years of a successful corporate life, Greg pursued his dream of being self-employed and in February of 2002 opened his first insurance and financial services agency. After building his agency from 0 to over 3000 clients Greg sold his firm in 2015 to pursue areas of the industry that he enjoys the most. His next venture included helping to found Next Step Advisors, LLC, with the goal to simplify the Medicare process and help even the most educated people navigate this complex system. Through his years of experience regardless of where his clients live Greg always provides a high level of personal service that people deserve and appreciate.
Greg’s success was built at a grassroots level helping one family at a time. He helped his community by volunteering for many local organizations such as the Ahwatukee YMCA, Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis. As a community leader, Greg was quickly recognized as someone who put others’ interests ahead of his own.
His drive to help people transition to Medicare comes from his personal experience with his father. Greg’s dad at age 68 was hospitalized for 128 days straight due to an infection he acquired while in the hospital for a routine procedure. Through that long journey, which thankfully his dad survived, showed Greg how important making the correct Medicare decision can be.
Greg has been married to Lina for nearly 30 years and has one daughter Summer who is attending Nursing school. In his free time, he enjoys home projects, playing his guitar, and exercising with their dogs.

Life Insurance
If you have a major illness or injury, such as a stroke, heart attack or broken hip, and need assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing or dressing, you may need long-term care. If you do need care, you may need nursing home or home care for only a short time – or you may need these services for many months, years or the rest of your life. Long-term care insurance helps you face the often overwhelming costs of this kind of care.
Long-term care insurance: Do you need it?
- Life expectancy after age 65 is about 19.4 years (20.6 years for women and 18 years for men). The longer people live, the more likely they’ll need help due to chronic conditions.
- About 11 million Americans of all ages require long-term care, but only 1.4 million live in nursing homes.
- About 70% of people who reach age 65 are expected toneed some form of long-term care at least once in their lifetime.
- About 35% of people who reach age 65 are expected to enter a nursing home at least once in their lifetime. Of those who go into a nursing home, the average stay is a year.
- From 2015 to 2055, the number of people age 85 and older will triple, from more that 6 million to more than 18 million, increasing the number of people in long-term care.
Dental, Vision, and Hearing Insurance
Can healthy teeth help you avoid serious medical conditions? Research shows a link between periodontal disease, including gum infection and inflammation and tooth damage, and heart disease. Wisdom teeth connect to the central nervous system, heart, liver, and intestines. With a good dental insurance plan that allows you to take care of essential dental care and treatment, you help protect your overall health.
At Next Step Advisors, we also help clients add vision insurance and hearing insurance to their medical coverage to help cover costs of glasses and hearing aids, along with medical bills for vision and hearing care, diagnostics, and treatments.
Critical Illness Insurance
Sometimes called catastrophic illness insurance, critical illness insurance is a vital part of your insurance portfolio. In the event of a major health emergency, such as cancer, heart attack or stroke, critical illness insurance could be the only thing protecting you and your family from financial ruin.
Many people assume they’re fully protected with a standard health insurance plan, but the exorbitant costs of treating life-threatening illnesses are usually more than any plan will cover. Whether you face overwhelming chemotherapy costs for cancer treatment or require organ transplant, critical illness insurance can help you receive the medical care you need without jeopardizing your family’s financial future.
Because these emergencies or illnesses often incur greater than average medical costs, these policies pay out cash to help cover those gaps where traditional health insurance may fall short. These policies come at a relatively low cost, but pre-existing conditions may not be covered or could prevent you from qualifying. Don’t procrastinate: you are never younger or healthier than you are today.
Most common and most costly critical illness:
- Cancer, representing 60% of critical insurance claims
- Heart attack/heart disease
- Stroke
- Multiple sclerosis
